Creating Curb Appeal

According to HGTV, first impressions are everything – at least when it comes to selling your home. According to the National Association of Realtors, 63 percent of homebuyers will drop by after viewing a home they like online. If your home was for sale, what would they see?

Landscaping plays a major role in the curb appeal of any property. Overgrown lawns and shrubs leave the impression that the property is not well-maintained. In contrast, careful landscaping offers a clean, manicured look and is naturally more visually appealing. Adding some carefully arranged, well-tended shrubs, flowers, and greenery can be the finishing touch for creating curb appeal.

Just remember that if your home’s curb appeal makes a great first impression, everyone — including potential homebuyers — will want to see what’s inside. Low-voltage makes a huge impact on your home’s curb appeal while also providing safety and security. Fixtures can add accent lighting to trees or the house or can illuminate a walking path. If you aren’t able to use  that require wiring, install solar fixtures (but understand that their light levels are not as bright or as reliable).

But you have to have something for the lighting to highlight as as visual appeal during the day. Get  beds into shape by pruning growth, pulling weeds, planting flowers, and adding new mulch to restore that was taken away by sunlight and harsh weather. If stone or brick borders your bed, consider cleaning and resetting any pieces that are soiled or dislodged. If your border is old or tired-looking, try upgrading to stone or a decorative cast-concrete edging system for improved curb appeal.  Add contrast to your home exterior with a new planting bed. Prime spots for curb appeal are at the front corners of the yard, along driveways or walkways, and immediately in front of the house.

Small changes can totally transform the look and appeal of any property.  Not sure where to start?  We can help you make the most of your curb appeal today.

Early spring is a good time to install new sod. If your lawn is looking less than beautiful, it could be time to design a new landscape for your yard, and part of that new landscape design could be installing new sod.

Either way, they are NOT looking to spend more time mowing and maintaining their lawns.

Country Green Online, Landscape and Lawn Services

When I run into people while I am out working or purchasing supplies for our lawn and landscape jobs, people notice my company name on my shirts and they will ask, “What is it that you do?”. Being a person who loves his work and isn’t one bit shy about sharing, I tell them.

First of all I brag a little and let them know that I own and operate Country Green Landscaping and Lawn. Then, I tell them about some of the things we do.  Our steady, year round business is in lawns. We install sod, shrubs and flowers and then we usually end up with a steady customer who wants us to come and take care of their yard.

Because yards don’t grow and thrive without water, we also help our customers with the maintenance or replacement of sprinkler heads. Sprinkler heads can wear out or get damaged by the mowers, so it’s important to keep them in good repair. We do that for our clients.

Yards look best when they are healthy and thriving so you can hire us to Fertilize your lawn and garden on a regular schedule. There are times of the year when you yard can look a little worse for the wear, but if you don’t know the ins and outs of your county’s fertilizer rules and regs, you can get yourself in trouble, AND you could hurt our local eco system. It’s best to call a pro.

Besides our basic lawn service plus yearly shrub and turf fertilizer, weed control in landscaped areas we can also be contracted to keep your  bushes trimmed monthly or  as needed.

I know that spring is when most people start thinking about lawn care, but I am here to tell you that winter is the best time to sit back, look around and notice things. What area of your yard looks a little shabby. Where could you use more color and warmth. If you are having trouble keeping certain plants alive, then perhaps we can help you find ones you will love, but they will also fare better in the Florida weather?

For all of your landscape and lawn service needs, consider Country Green Landscaping and Lawn Service if you live in Grant, Sebastian, or Palm Bay.

Lawn Care In Florida Winters

Our lawns here in Florida have a slightly different schedule than in some other parts of the country. They get hot in the summer, cool in the winter evenings and our soil here is very sandy. While we mow lawns here in Indian River and Brevard Counties each week in the summer time, during the cooler months of fall and winter, we mow less  frequently.

Why You Should Have Your Yard Landscaped by Country Green

Why landscape your home or business? I can share with you a couple of different reasons.

One: First impressions. When a client drives up to your building, do you want them to think “This is a company who values their space and will value mine as well”. A well designed and maintained landscape design can increase the curb appeal, as well as the market value of your property.

Two: Increases In Value. This is a visual world we are living in, and with each generation it gets more so. Unless you have a front yard with a cohesive landscape plan and some colorful flowers, your property is not going to be dressed to impress.

Country Green Landscape and Lawn Service has years of experience in designing and maintaining outdoor areas for clients from Palm Bay to Sebastian.

We have been called in by Realtors on both Commercial and Residential jobs in order to increase the curb appeal of properties. I can tell you with certainty that once we do, those properties, if listed at the right price, will sell faster than the ones not well groomed. Why? Because when they drove up to the property it was visually appealing and it looked well cared for. When a property doesn’t look like its been cared for, then people begin to wonder what could be wrong with the property and they look elsewhere.

The bottom line is this. Whatever your budget, we can do something to improve your curb appeal. Give us a call.
